ANNOUNCEMENTS:

LAVENDAR GRADUATION

Ben Cartwright, director of the Pride Action Committee, Professor Susan Cayleff, co-chair of Safe Zones, and I have talked about having a Lavender Graduation for LGBT students who will receive an undergraduate or graduate degree this May. That's because this is the first year of the new LGBT Studies Minor.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE GRADUATING THIS MAY AND WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE.  Please also send this to any other students who might want to attend, so they can contact me.  You don't have to be an LGBT Studies Minor to participate.

This event will also be open to guests--faculty, staff, and students who want to celebrate your graduation.  We will select a date that does not conflict with other graduation ceremonies on campus.

Queer People of Color conference urgently needs presenters

Gibran Guido is organizing the Queer People of Color Conference in San Diego, which will take place the weekend of May 7-8.  He told me that lots of people have signed up to attend but few people have volunteered to present papers, workshops, art, etc.  I will actually be proposing a workshop on publishing in the Journal of Lesbian Studies.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please email him at qpoccsd@gmail.com
